| Moscow Urban Transport Project

The Moscow Urban Transport Project aims at improving institutional capacity in planning, implementing, operating, and enforcing traffic management measures, to improve transport mobility in the city. The components will: 1) finance the establishment of a traffic management center (TMS), responsible for planning traffic management schemes, including the operation of traffic signals. Technical assistance, and training will be provided to support implementation by the TMS, of traffic monitoring programs, and studies on traffic control, and parking availability; 2) include a comprehensive range of traffic, and safety enhancing improvements along two corridors, radiating from the Garden Ring, to the Outer Ring Road encircling Moscow, including an additional corridor to be determined; 3) finalize completion of feasibility studies for the Garden Ring/Central Area, begun during project preparation. Upon approval, completion of detailed engineering schemes along the above mentioned area, will be financed; 4) widen the Donbasky Bridge, to accommodate an eight lane roadway on either side of the bridge, and, eliminate the existing tram track bridge; and, 5) conduct a traffic enforcement program, ensuring adequate training to staff, and implementation of operational plans to maximize equipment, construction, and advisory investments.**
